While you watched, the world changed
Start the observation and stop whenever you like. See what happened around the world during your time.

The link contains only the observation time — no name or account. What this experiment shows
Large annual totals are difficult to imagine. This experiment converts documented rates into the time you choose, so births, deaths, population change, digital activity, water withdrawals, waste and military expenditure can be compared on one screen.
Method and limitations
Each result equals the selected duration multiplied by an average rate derived from the cited source. Actual activity varies by time and place. Military expenditure is an educational interpolation of SIPRI’s annual total, not a live financial feed.
Questions about the observation
Does DynamicFacts watch individual events?
No. The counters are mathematical illustrations based on published aggregate data.
Why can every result be different?
You decide when to stop. Eight seconds, twelve seconds or two minutes therefore produce different totals.
Is my observation saved?
No personal observation record or name is required. The duration can be included in a shareable URL.
