The automobile world
Cars enter the world, change technology and eventually leave the road. Four official datasets show different parts of that cycle without pretending they are one live feed.

What the production counter means
OICA reports 96.4 million motor vehicles produced worldwide in 2025. DynamicFacts divides that published annual total across the current year to make its scale visible. It is an educational equivalent, not a measurement of vehicles leaving assembly lines now.
Road safety
WHO estimates 1.19 million road traffic deaths a year, based on 2021 data in the 2023 global report. The moving value is a time-distributed model; real crashes are not evenly spaced and are not observed here.
End of life — where global comparison stops
There is no single current, harmonised global count of scrapped vehicles. Eurostat reports 4.3 million end-of-life vehicles in the EU in 2023, weighing 5.0 million tonnes. This regional figure is shown separately and is never subtracted from global production.
Electric vehicles inside the same system
IEA says electric-car sales exceeded 20 million in 2025 and reached 25% of worldwide car sales. That is a market transition inside the automobile system, not a separate total to add to all motor-vehicle production.
What if every new vehicle became one automobile graveyard?
Turn a year of global vehicle production into a line, an area and a transparent limits check.
